Savers Artwork, Goodwill Gold & eBay Customer Feedback

Recently Discovered N.C. Wyeth Painting in Manchester, NH Goodwill Store May Command $250,000

A rare N.C. Wyeth original painting was discovered by a woman in a Savers thrift store in Manchester, New Hampshire, back in August 2017 while she was searching through a stack of old frames. She purchased the painting for $4, unaware of its true value. The artwork, one of four illustrations Wyeth created for a 1939 edition of Helen Hunt Jackson’s novel "Ramona," is now set to be auctioned for an estimated $150,000 to $250,000. An independent conservator, Lauren Lewis, recognized its authenticity and uniqueness, leading to its identification as an original N.C. Wyeth piece. The painting will be auctioned by Bonhams Skinner Auction House on September 19th.

$5 Goodwill Discovery Yields Valuable Surprise

A fortunate thrifter, Ryan Filipski, made an astonishing discovery after purchasing candlesticks for $5 from Goodwill. Inside one of the candlesticks, he found a bag containing four gold coins, which initially seemed unreal. Despite doubts, the find turned out to be genuine, and the coins' value can potentially amount to thousands of dollars. While the specific type of gold coins wasn't mentioned, their worth depends on factors like condition and variety; for example, an 1877-S liberty gold double eagle $20 coin recently sold for over $3,700 on eBay. This unexpected windfall left Ryan in awe and disbelief.
