Silver Poised for an Exceptional Year, Potential to Surpass Gold and Reach a Decade High
Silver is poised for a banner year, potentially reaching a 10-year high with prices hitting $30 per ounce, according to Michael DiRienzo, executive director of the Silver Institute. The anticipated surge in demand is driven by stronger industrial offtake, with global silver demand expected to reach 1.2 billion ounces in 2024. Thrifters should keep a keen eye out for silver while sourcing, as its price performance tends to follow that of gold but with a lag, making it a valuable find in thrift stores and other unconventional markets.

Goodwill Unearths Gold LEGO Mask, Fetches Record Sale
A rare 14-karat gold Kanohi Hau mask from Lego's Bionicle line, one of only 30 ever produced, was discovered in a bag of jewelry at a Goodwill store in central Pennsylvania. Initially overlooked, the mask was later posted on the store's e-commerce platform, where it attracted private offers due to its rarity. Eventually sold for $18,101 through an online auction, the proceeds will support Goodwill's mission of aiding individuals facing life challenges by providing jobs and training opportunities. Despite a previous unsuccessful bid of $33,000, the final sale marked a significant milestone for Goodwill and garnered attention as one of their highest-selling items.
